On Being from the South

Whenever I hear Southern hip hop, it always makes me so excited. Having lived in the NYC for so long, it’s rare to see a car on hydraulics blasting booty base–or a every girl able to really dance to it.
That’s when I saw this video, it made me so psyched to be spending so much time in the South.

Team will forever be my favorite gallery. It’s sensibility and insight in working with artists that easily have a one to one cultural value exchange has always been evident. Working with the likes of Slater Bradley, Cory Arcangel, and Banks Violet, it has the magic touch if you will.
Cory Arcangel, Guillaume Pinard, and Jon Routson comprise the current group show on display through July 31st. It’s one of the best.

My travels are impending, and today for the first time, I am very excited. I have been listening to a lot of Britpop lately. Although I was initially reluctant to move to London, I have to say that it’s become the realization of a dream. Needless to say, I can’t wait to visit a Pret A Manger.
Radiohead has forever been my favorite–but out of rotation. This is positive despite the languishing vocals.
Epic Win…Totally Random

Today, I received two miniature dictionaries that are German to Finnish and Finnish to German. This is the perfect gift from one of my favorite people. Epic Win in more ways than you can possibly imagine.

Th best thing about being a girl in NYC is having the ability to steal ideas from everyone’s streetstyle. There are now a bunch of sites dedicated to documenting the streetwear of some of the most interesting cities around the world. We named him Chunk for two reasons: one it’s the best Goonies character and two because he is the laziest hamster ever. But, he has made a 180 recently and has been working out on his wheel and dieting. He is now ready to help us out, so we got him a desk and a computer. (Needless to say, he needed some coaxing.)
